Happy New Year!

Well....another year is almost done. It just doesn't seem possible that 2011 has flown by so quickly. As usual, I didn't get as much accomplished this year as I would have liked, but somehow, life can get in the way of our best intentions. Now we have 2012 to anticipate and hope for better things to happen in our lives. My wish is just that for all of you that take the time out of your busy schedule to look at my blog. I really appreciate it, because I know how busy your lives can be. Happy New Year to each and every one of you. May 2012 be your best year ever!

Thanks for stopping by to visit me. I hope you will come back in 2012.

Happy Scrappin and Dolly Playin!

Playing Barbie!

Wow....the month of December sure has flown by, and now it's almost a brand new year.....2012. Hard to believe, but yet it's here. How will all of you celebrate New Year's Eve? Me?? I'll be right here at home watching the ball drop in Times Square, and then I'll probably watch a few YouTube videos until I'm ready to drift off to sleep. Hubby? Well....he'll be watching the backs of his eyelids long before midnight. haha

Anyway....I played a little bit today with a couple of dolls. It felt good, and I hadn't done that in awhile. Today I'm sharing a couple of Basic Barbie dolls with the much loved Steffie face. I have to say, I love this face as much as everyone else.

The lst doll I have named Camilla. I'm not sure why....except that name just came to me when I redressed her and made over her hair. I'll explain. At first I was sorry I had bought this blonde Steffie with the very curly hair. After I deboxed her, I thought....what a very dry frizzy looking mess. Then it came to me to try washing and conditioning her hair, and that dear friends....made all the difference in the world. Once I had rinsed out the conditioner, I just used my old afro pick(remember those?) and gently started shaping her hair. Then I just used my fingers and hands to shape and scrunch those curls. The result......LOVE HER! She is so much improved, and I can't stop looking at her.
I hope you all like her as much as I do. Please leave a comment and let me know.

The 2nd Steffie girl I'm sharing is a Target Red Basic doll with the same Steffie face, but with jet black hair in a ponytail. I decided she's a bit rock n' roll, so I redressed her accordingly. She is just gorgeous with her juicy red lips and midnight black hair, and I love her in this fashion.
I named her Roxie, because it just seemed to fit her whole look and personality. The fashion she is wearing was originally a Fashion Fever ensemble that came on a Fashion Fever doll......I think. The doll was a blonde Barbie with that new face that no one really liked, so it disappeared. Anyway....I think she looks like she's ready to go to a very loud rock n' roll concert......or perform as the lead singer of a very popular band. LOL Once again.....I hope you like her. Let me know please.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Dolly Playin....and Happy Scrappin.

Pop Up Gift Card Holders

Thanks to Mary from CardzTV.blogspot.com, I learned how to make these adorable gift card holders. Although I made mine for Christmas(since they both are going to be used very soon for Christmas gifts), but you can really make these for any occasion that you need to give a gift. If you want to watch a video tutorial on how to make these adorable Pop Up Gift Card Holders, pop on over to Mary's blog and watch her video tutorial on how to make these. Mary is very awesome to learn from, so stay awhile and watch some of her other videos. Thanks Mary! http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com

You've probably guessed, but the gift card just slides into the green pop up part of the card. I decided to add a couple of gift tags tied on with baker's twine by Martha Stewart. These cute pop up gift card holders can be embellished in a lot of ways. I just chose to cut out a couple of round circles with my Fiskar's cutting system and then added a couple of cute holiday stickers to add to the band that goes around the card to keep it closed.

I hope you have enjoyed my latest projects. Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Happy dolly playing and crafting.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Christmas Card Creations

Wow! It's sure been a long time since I posted anything on my blog. Life has just gotten in the way, but I have a couple of creations to share with all of you today.

Here are 2 Christmas cards I've created to send out to family and friends this holiday season.

I had a lot of fun creating this cute Hello Kitty card using my Cricut and the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge. What wasn't so much fun was trying to put it together with some of those teeny tiny pieces. ho ho ho I think this card turned out pretty cute if I don't say so myself. I added white stickles to the pom pom, fur trim on the Santa hat. Also, I added some to the small white pom poms on the elf
shoes too. Glossy accents was used to on Hello Kitty's eyes.

For the second card, I used the Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge to make this really cute Santa
hat and the poinsettia that adorns the hat. I ran the fur trim and pom pom through my sticker maker so I could sprinkle those pieces with some sparkly white fine glitter. I was very pleased with the results. I ran the Santa hat itself through the Cuttlebug using the snowflake folder, and I think doing that added some really nice texture to the hat. Yellow stickles was used on the poinsettia too.

I'm very happy with the way both of my cards turned out, and I sure hope you enjoy both of them as well. I'm sorry that the pictures really don't do these cards justice.

Happy Holidays to all of you!
